About
Eagles List is an independent catalogue that helps Life Scouts find Eagle Scout service project opportunities and organizations to contact in the Bay Area. It is not affiliated with Scouting America and does not replace council or district project approval.
How listings work
Listings are curated from public sources such as school district project pages, parks departments, and nonprofit websites. Each entry links to its source when possible. Listings older than 90 days are marked for verification. Always confirm availability directly with the beneficiary before starting a project.
Organizations may also register by replying to an outreach email or contacting us directly. You can share Eagle Scout project ideas, a public project page to link to, or a coordinator contact for the Organizations page.
Privacy policy
Effective date: June 29, 2025
This policy describes how Eagles List (https://eagles-list.vercel.app) collects, uses, publishes, and protects information. It applies to visitors of the website and to organizations and individuals whose information appears in the catalogue or who receive email from us.
1. Who operates this site
Eagles List is operated by Abhay Jani as an independent community resource. For privacy questions, listing corrections, removal requests, or to opt out of future outreach, contact abhayjani21@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
We work with the following categories of information:
- Public catalogue data: project titles, descriptions, locations, organization names, project status, tags, source URLs, and publicly available contact details (name, title, email, phone) associated with a listing.
- Organization listings: organization name, type, description, location, website, and coordinator contact information you provide or that appears on a public source we reference.
- Voluntary submissions: information you send us by email when registering a project, updating a listing, reporting an error, or registering a point of contact for your organization.
- Outreach contact records: email addresses and related details found on public organization websites (for example, department inboxes on a district or agency contact page) used solely to send partnership inquiry emails. We do not purchase contact lists.
- Standard server logs: our hosting provider may automatically record technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. Eagles List does not run its own analytics, advertising trackers, or user accounts.
3. How we obtain information
- Public sources: we manually review and copy information already published on official websites, board agendas, district project pages, and similar public materials. We link to the source whenever possible.
- Your submission: when you reply to an outreach email or write to us directly, you voluntarily provide project details or contact information for listing.
- Automated discovery for outreach only: a local script may crawl public pages on organization websites to find email addresses already posted for public contact. Discovery respects robots.txt and rate limits. Emails found this way are used for manual outreach review, not added to the public catalogue without verification.
4. How we use information
- Display project and organization listings so scouts and families can find opportunities.
- Link each listing to its public source and show when it was last verified.
- Send one-to-one partnership inquiry emails to organizational contacts, reviewed and sent manually in small batches, not through bulk or automated sending services.
- Respond to your emails, correct errors, and process removal or update requests.
- Maintain internal records of which organizations have been contacted so we do not send duplicate outreach.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use catalogue contact details for unrelated marketing.
5. What we publish on the website
The catalogue is a public website. Information added to a listing, including organization names, project descriptions, locations, and contact names, titles, emails, and phone numbers, is visible to anyone who visits the site. Only submit contact information you are authorized to share for scout inquiries.
Email addresses discovered for outreach but not yet linked to a published listing are kept in private internal records and are not displayed on the site.
6. Email outreach
We may email organizational contacts to ask whether they would like to share Eagle Scout project ideas or register a coordinator contact on Eagles List. These emails:
- Are sent only to addresses publicly posted by the organization for contact purposes, preferring official department inboxes over personal addresses.
- Clearly identify the sender by name and reply-to email address.
- Describe the purpose of the message and link to this privacy policy.
- Are reviewed before sending; we do not blast large mailing lists.
Opt out:Reply to any outreach email with “unsubscribe,” “opt out,” or “do not contact” and we will add your address to our do-not-contact list and stop future outreach. We will honor opt-out requests promptly and do not require a login or web form to unsubscribe.
Opting out of outreach does not automatically remove a listing already published from a public source; see section 9 for listing removal.
7. Registering a project or point of contact
When you register a project or organization contact by email, you represent that:
- You are authorized to share the information for the purpose of connecting Life Scouts with service opportunities.
- The contact details provided are appropriate for scout or parent inquiries.
- You understand the submitted information may be published on this public catalogue, linked to your organization's public website where applicable.
By submitting information, you consent to our use of that information as described in this policy. You may request changes or removal at any time (see section 9).
8. Cookies and tracking
Eagles List does not set advertising cookies, use third-party analytics, or require user accounts. Filter and search preferences on the catalogue are handled in your browser session only and are not stored on our servers. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may process standard web server logs; see Vercel's privacy policy for details on their processing.
9. Your choices and rights
You may contact us at any time to:
- Request removal or correction of a project listing, organization listing, or contact detail.
- Opt out of future outreach emails.
- Ask what information we hold about your organization in our internal records.
- Withdraw consent for voluntarily submitted information (we will remove it from the catalogue unless we are required to retain a minimal record of your request).
We aim to respond to privacy and removal requests within 30 days. If information was copied from a third-party public source, we will remove it from Eagles List even if it remains on the original source.
California residents: You may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, email abhayjani21@gmail.com.
10. Children's privacy
Eagles List is intended to help scouts and families find projects. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Scouts who use the site browse public listings only; we do not offer registration or profiles for minors. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Data retention
- Published listings remain until removed, superseded, or marked outdated. Listings not verified within 90 days are flagged as needing verification.
- Outreach contact records are retained to prevent duplicate emails and to honor opt-out requests. Addresses on our do-not-contact list are kept indefinitely so we do not contact you again.
- Email correspondence about listings is kept only as long as needed to maintain the catalogue and respond to your requests.
12. Security
The site is a static catalogue hosted on a commercial platform with HTTPS. Listing data is maintained in version-controlled files reviewed before publication. No system is perfectly secure; please do not send sensitive personal information (such as government IDs or financial data) by email.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy for website visitors; for outreach contacts, we will honor prior opt-out requests.
