Complete Workbook Sections A–H describing what you will do, who benefits, and who approves the project.
Checklist
- Draft your project description in your own words (executive summary style).
- Identify the beneficiary organization and representative contact info.
- Document coordination meetings with the beneficiary.
- Complete the Contacts page with Scoutmaster, committee chair, and coach info.
- Present the proposal to the beneficiary and incorporate their feedback.
- Obtain beneficiary signature on the Project Proposal.
- Obtain unit leader and committee approval signatures.
- Submit to your district/council per local procedures.
Tips
- Keep the proposal focused on benefit and leadership - details go in the Final Plan.
- Photos or sketches help beneficiaries understand your idea.
- Contact your district advancement chair early if you are unsure the project is Eagle-worthy.
Common mistakes
- Writing the full step-by-step plan in the proposal (that belongs in the Final Plan).
- Skipping beneficiary signature before council review.
- Forgetting to copy your parent and Scoutmaster on proposal emails.
